My Day at Shrimpz 5 - Fishing

Its pretty quiet at the restaurant today thanks to the JPJ, Police & Mocad! Daily roadblocks makes it difficult for free lancers to bring clients around... Well.. there's a pro and con to that.. I will not touch on that.. knowing how my mouth can run, im afraid i will be behind bars before i can even publish this post!

I have spoken about our farm, restaurant, our horses and archery and this time i wanna tell you about fishing. Yes... you can also do fishing here in Shrimpz.... We have dedicated 1 of our pond for fishing. Seabass, garouper, "tilapia" and snappers are not eagerly waiting for you to catch them... but they are there and you just might be able to fish them out. Fishing in a pond is not the same as fishing in the sea... I have to admit that sea fishing is more challanging but then.. you just might have the same amount of fun and less trouble.. We provide all the gears and baits for a small amount.. you just got to sit back and throw the rod in and catch your dinner...

Here's a few pics that i took....

Even a small girl can catch a fish.. Its really easy....

Caught one of my staff -Ein KEpeng fishing while one duty... I was so angry that i nearly threw him into the pond! wakakaka...... Till today, he dont dare do it again... ;)

A great time for family bonding....

Romantic eh? Wish my boy friend would bring me fishing and be attentive as this guy is.... :P

I think i better go do some fishing now.... Im so angry and annoyed at the moment... SOMEBODY decided it would be fun to do a roadblock at the entrance of the restaurant... Before i start kicking someone into the pond... I better go and cool myself down... Wanna join me? I promise not to kick you in the pond.. hehehe....

My Day at Shrimpz 4 - Archery

Wanna try be a Robin Hood? Thats always my opening sentence to ask anyone to try out archery... The 1st time i ever played this sport is here in Shrimpz.. Come to think of it, there's lots of 1st things that i did in my entire life here... hehe.. Playing with horse, harvesting prawns, catching crabs, fishing, being a waitress!! wakakaka... my life really took a big turn being here... not a bad choice actually... well... it could be better in lots of aspect but so far... im not complaining THAT MUCH! (hope my boss wont read this part!)

Playing archery is fun.. Its much more fun when you wanna destress... What i normally do is to imagine the face of a person that i wanna shoot down and just shoot... You rarely miss the target when you do this.. HAHAHAHA... and NO.. i know what you guys are thinking.. I wasnt imagining my Bosses face! :P No matter how demanding he is, how WILD he is.. i never had to imagine his face as my target yet.... but im positively sure, its the opposite for him...wakakaka.... and dear Boss.. if you are reading this.. you know me right.. i write what i feel and im not and never will be a person to suck up to the bosses.. and knowing you... you will definitely agree that you dont need us to suck up to you too! (Oh dear... i think i'll definitely still not get that job confirmation letter which i DEFINITELY DESERVE after he reads all this)

Oh no Ct... you better shut up about your boss and start talking about archery if you know whats good for you.. (p.s, when i write, i do tend to talk to myself at the same time) What more can i write about archery other than its easy and fun? Come and try it yourself....

Our Ex Staff - Wan trying to shoot down a bird... Fortunately he did NOT succeed!

If a guy is called Robin Hood? What shall we call the girl? Cindy Hood? as in cinderella with a bow and arrow? :P

Dr Fadzley - the famous "Dr Love" of Malaysia.. a well known artist / singer / doctor being a target for our shooters... He is a real sport. Saw that apple on his head?? I was the one who shoot it through.... ;) yeah right.. I do have to admit, Dr Fazdley managed to gain all my staff's respect. He really knows how to carry himself well... A role model for astist around....

Ifa Raziah - the lovely actress and a caring person trying out archery at our place... I do like her... a very nice lady... Saw the guy in the red T-shirt? He is one of our staff - Ein Kepeng. Wanna know what Archery is all about? Ask him.. and yes.. i am always his imaginary target shoot.... :p

Come over and try out archery with me.... Its really fun... A good way of destessing yourself.. and if you do imagine about shooting your bosses down.. dont worry... I WONT TELL! hehehehe....

My Day at Shrimpz 3 - Our Horses

Hey guys... Its been a while since my 2nd blog.. At this rate, im not sure when i'll be able to finish the start of the story :P There have been much activity going on here and not to mention the headache that i got to go through. Its rather difficult to juggle between personal and work load.. Is there anyone out there that can give me some tips? Im really losing my sanity here even eating my wonderful prawns doesnt help.. huhuhuhu......

Anyways, lets not dwell on that.. I wanna take my mind off all the problems and just let my emotions on this heavenly place roll... On the last 2 blogs, you have seen the restaurant, the farm and the food... but there's much more to share... In Shrimpz Langkawi its not just a farm or a great restaurant but its a total farm experience! There's lots to do here.. fishing, horse joy ride, archery, fish feeding etc... Let me show you some of the activities that can be done on a daily basis...

Labib, Carlos, Paolo Orchestra & Sonic (Our horses)

Before this place, i dont actually mingle with horses or know nothing about them other than the fact that i was born in the year of the horse.. hahaha... On the first day of work, i tried bribing them with carrot and sweet talking them to befriends with me... As i predicted, the males were easy but Sonic our only "girl" was suspicious and jealous... She wouldnt even look at me... Hahaha.. typical female... She is so used to be pampered by all the man here and being a diva as she is.. She just snubbed me right out... Hahaha... but then, i played my cool and tried to win her heart... It took me 2 weeks and in the end, we call it truce... there is no dying love between us but a bond of respect and understanding... ;)

Wanna see them? Come over here yourself... hahahaha.....

Thats Chestra and Labib... Handsome right? Especially Chestra... Labib is kinda old but dont tell him that! He is very sensitive.... ;)

Children preparing themselves for a fun time with the horses...

What a superb place to enjoy horse riding... if you dont know how to ride... no worries at all... our staff will be able to assist you...

Introducing... Sonic! Our DIVA horse...

Hahahahaha..... Dear Sonic, by putting up this photo, doesnt mean to say that i dont love you... I do... :P

I for one dont have the heart to ride them... Im afraid they cant carry my weight... Poor babies... I think i should start trying to pull them for a ride at the farm daily, lose weight then i can ride them... Ironic aye... Be a slave of horse in order to master the horse.... Hmmm...... thats life....

Catch you guys later... Im going to go and check on the stables now... Ciao

My Day at Shrimpz 2 - Superb Food

Its a Friday today, and i just have enough time to write about my new plan.. But mind you.. before i can go on and share what i wanna do with this place, i got to show and tell what we are having over here. On the first posting, i've shared with all on the beauty of this place and truth to be told.. im still captivated by the beauty of it... It just grows on you... :) Today, im going to share more on the food that we are serving. Believe me.. your saliva will be dropping on your pants! hehehehe....

Now i cant claim that this lobster is fresh from our farm... Its rather difficult to get live local lobsters hence i got to order lobsters from Boston! And its still alive.. hahaha.... Well.. its still alive when its in our aquarium but not when its on the hot plate.. :P

Now this yummy prawns is really fresh from our farm! You get to choose your own prawns, wht size you prefer and how you want it cooked. I really like the Black Pepper Prawns (photo) but some say, the best way to eat fresh prawns is just to steam it. You get to taste the sweet original flavour of the prawns. Especially when its prawns from our own farm! ;)

Crabs.... We do have our own crabs too... Im not really into crabs but i have friends who just simply enjoy eating crabs... The best is curry powder crab... i like the gravy! Simply yummy... but my friends like the chilli crab... well.. both are delicious too....

TOMYAM! I simply love it... either you go for the real spicy one or the mild sourish ones... Seafood tomyam is simply the best! In Shrimpz, we serve our Tomyam in a coconut.. the beauty of it opens up our appetite and the taste.. Oh wow... Simply irresistable!

No meal is complete without a good fish.. at least for me. Here in Shrimpz you get live fish from our pond, wide selection of fresh local fish.. Soft white flesh and cooked the way you like it... My favorite is Thai Steam Fish. I love the spicy sourish flavour of it... However, the best selling here is BBQ fish.. this i dont understand.. I mean i like BBQ but BBQ fish? Anyway... different people have different taste...

As i mentioned on the first blog which i posted, we have 2 kinds of sitting here in Shrimpz. 1 is gazebo style and the other is normal barn table. In the next photo, you will get to see the food display in the gazebo..

While you sit and eat, you get a great farm view at the back and listen to the paddle wheel turning... mmm..... Dont you want to be here with me? Langkawi is cedrtainly a great place to relax!

Talking about all this delicious food makes me hungryyyyyyy...... Im going to log off now and enjoy my lunch. Care to join me? ;) Till later, ct

My Day at Shrimpz 1 - Farm & Restaurant view

Im facing a dilemma here.. Im now running a restaurant.. mind you this is something that i never thought i would be doing.. Though some say that it suits me very well as you see my hobby is eating.. I like good tasty food and the key to it is fresh ingredients.. so when Hashnoel (our demanding Boss whom we call the WS - Wild Stallion ) dined and not wined but fed me with all his glory story and what he envisioned this place to be i became excited and started sharing with him my ideas too. Unknowingly, i became attached to this wonderful place called Shrimpz! The feeling to be here is just superb! Great view, delicious food fresh from the farm and full with friendly staff whose smiles and laughter just makes you feel relaxed. If you dont believe me that this place is beautiful.. look at this picture...

Thats the photo taken from a heli by Hashnoel. He's not such a good cameraman eh.. but at least he managed to capture half of the view.. hehe.. There are 14 ponds all together for the prawns, 2 ponds for the fishes, a hatchery for the fishes, stable for the horses, grounds for archery and the best is the gazebbos which is set next to the ponds. The gazebboes is truly a Malaysian style concept where people can relax and unwind while having food or drinks... I use to spend hours here eating with friends and watching sunset.. Talking about sunset.. You will find the most spectacular sunset here. Sunset at the beach is nowdays a norm but seing the sun coming down on a farm and hearing the animal retreating voices.. Oh my... it touches ones heart deeply..

Well... i still got lots more to share.. i also want ideas on what i wanna do with this beautiful place which captured my heart... Look out for my 2nd blog yeah.... till next time, ct
